The TERRA® Crossbow XS, An Extreme Boot for Extreme Weather
CAMBRIDGE, ON – August, 2016 – TERRA® has remained at the forefront of innovation in the protective footwear industry for over 40 years. Its new manufacturing facility is located in Ontario, Canada, and houses two of the most modern Direct Injection machines in North America. TERRA® footwear features technical advancements to enhance comfort within a variety of jobsites and working conditions.
Recognizing that extreme cold environments demand an extreme boot, TERRA® created the Crossbow XS (915507DW). Unmatched in its design and innovation, the Crossbow XS addresses the on-going concern for temperature regulation in extreme conditions and boasts a -76⁰ F temperature rating with a full-grain waterproof leather and Cordura® Nylon combination upper. The Crossbow XS is able to maintain peak performance even in extreme cold and maintain flexibility and temperature regulation due to the direct injected, cold formulated Polyurethane (PU) shell bottom with cross-beam sidewall details. The naturally insulating and durable injected PU, which is composed of millions of small air bubbles, provides exceptional waterproofing and flexibly lightweight insulating qualities. Not only does it resist oil and acid, workers avoid slips and trips with the high traction rubber outsole with diamond cleat design.
The extreme conditions the TERRA® Crossbow XS was built to withstand can make for a long day at work, so this boot is packed with comfort features too. The ergonomic, low profile design is compact and reduces fatigue. The moisture capture frost plug allows for the easy removal of collected moisture and adds an extra layer of temperature regulation to the four needle stitched layers of the TerraSphere® lining. TerraSphere® incorporates the most advanced lining technologies simultaneously; CLEANFEET microbial, odor fighting technology; insulated heat reflecting; no adhesive or melting of fibres for maximum breathability, movement, and moisture wicking. Essential high-viz components include 3M™ reflective piping and back strap pull-loop. Feet are further protected by the lightweight, metal free FIRMA-FLEX® composite toe cap, with flexible puncture resistant plate. Attention to detail at every step, the Crossbow XS also features triple-sealed uppers and doffing assist heel prong. This boot wasn’t just made to withstand extreme cold, but to perform to the highest standards.
